Serbian Community Association of Australia is a community-based organisation funded by Australian government to recruit, train and support volunteer visitors to visit socially isolated elderly people in residential aged care facilities or recipients of home care packages in their homes.
The Association is seeking to recruit volunteers who are interested in socialising with lonely and isolated Serbian elderly.
The role involves keeping in contact with an elderly person by talking over the phone and later, when the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, to visit them in person.
Also, we are inviting you to contact us if you know isolated elderly Serbian people who would benefit from this program.
All the costs associated with the volunteer role, such as police check, training, travel and other costs will be reimbursed.
